When are we going to talk about the fact that all this pvc/vinyl gear is strangely addictive.
Once RESERVED for the occasional rainy day in June, it’s now THE only fibre of merit I’ll allow myself to be coated in.
Vinyl fibres and I started our courtship back in Feb when Lanvin sent an army of muted-toned, double-breasted, gloriously shiny soldiers down the runway. And I kept a mental note to amend my c.v. to ‘spray-on PVC lover’. I knew my first dip into the glossy underworld would be something a little safer. This is the story of how my black vinyl legging collection began – a humble compilation I’m hoping will mature into an anthology of greatest hits I can *will to my kids.
*who am i kidding!
The story doesn’t end there.
Yep the addictive nature of vinyl isn’t as one would expect from the cloth herself. Nor from her remarkable wine-repelling skills (the coup d’maitre surely?). Surprisingly, it is in fact the variety of winter hues in the offering… crane-your-neck sightings of camel, dusky pink and my personal favourite – a perfect shade of merlot (this one’s from Reserved) – all on a high-street near you.
The introduction of this Devil-wears-Prada-esque masterpiece to my wardrobe has been quite the union. Keep your eyes/grapes peeled for more sassy sightings coming soon.
